About

Roots Behavioral Health was founded in 2016 by husband-and-wife team Brent and Andrea Turnipseed to address a pressing need for affordable and accessible behavioral healthcare in Austin.

Since then, the Roots family has grown to include two locations, an additional physician, thirteen physician assistants, 7 psychotherapists, and a roster of amazing support staff.

In addition, Roots has expanded services to include ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, a ground-breaking approach for the treatment of depression, anxiety, and other serious conditions.

Roots aspires to create a new, person-centric model of behavioral healthcare, one that regards patients as whole human beings, not just a cluster of facts or symptoms. We endeavor to employ the very best tools and approaches to promote well-being.

Brain Health Assessment

Would you like to be free of psychiatric medications? Or would you like to learn how to possibly reduce or stop some of them over time? If so, consider meeting with one of our providers and complete an extensive Brain Health Assessment. Based on your results, a provider can tailor a detailed plan to help optimize your brain health. The better your brain health, the better your chances to reduce how much medication you take. This special assessment can be scheduled after an initial evaluation or can be scheduled for established patients.
