Physician Assistants and our Collaborative Care Model
Our practice is fortunate to count on a team of skilled and caring Physician Assistants (PAs), who work closely with Dr. Turnipseed to provide care for our patients. PAs are highly-trained medical professionals who have completed a master’s degree that entails both rigorous medical education and more than 2,000 hours of clinical rotations before graduation. They are certified by the same medical board that licenses physicians, and are held to the same standard of care.
Like Psychiatrists, PAs have training in general medical practice as well as the specific field of psychiatry. In partnership with Dr. Turnipseed and Dr. Rouse, our PAs are able to provide the full spectrum of care our practice can offer, from skilled assessments to ordering and interpreting labs to prescribing medication. Equally important, they bring genuine compassion and a well-trained ear to every appointment, ensuring that our patients receive the highest possible quality of care.
Employing this collaborative-care model, we are able to greatly extend our reach, lowering wait-times for appointments and improving the quality of life for all of our patients.
For psychiatric care, we accept most major insurance plans.
Psychotherapy is offered fee-for-service only. We can provide lots of support in filing for reimbursement out-of-network for psychotherapy, just ask! For more information, please call 512-707-1629.
Unfortunately, we cannot accept Medicare or Medicaid at this time.
Payment must be made in full at the time of service. We accept cash, check, and major credit cards. If you are using insurance you may receive a bill as many plans require deductible payments which cannot be accurately determined at the time of service.
When you schedule an appointment, we reserve that time for you. If you need to reschedule or cancel please call as soon as possible. We do require a 24-hour notice for any change of service. While we will attempt to accommodate your needs, we must charge the following late-cancellation / no show fees:
Psychiatric Appointment: $125
Psychotherapy Session: $100
KAP Prep Session: $100
KAP Session: $300
Insurance rates vary by co-pay, co-insurance and deductible. Private rates vary by provider and type of service. Please contact us for details.
It is recommended that you call your insurance plan and check your benefits for behavioral health prior to seeking treatment. Many insurance plans contract behavioral health through different carriers (ex: Blue Cross Blue Shield HMO plans are often managed by Magellan). We can assist you in determining your benefits, just complete the contact form below.
We do not accept any type of Medicare or Medicaid. If you have a commercial plan in addition to Medicare or Medicaid we cannot bill either insurance company.
All requests for medical records must be made in writing. Requests for medical records not from the individual client must include a fully completed consent for release of information. Fees may be associated with requests.
You must discuss with your provider at a scheduled appointment the need for disability and the terms you both agree on. We collect a $50 administration fee for a disability claim.
We follow HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) guidelines. We do ask for consent of information between providers within our office if the client is a mutual client of our providers. Everyone in our practice, staff included, have completed training on confidentiality. Many of our records are electronic and are encrypted.
New Patient Request Form
Please note that we exclusively work with patients between the ages of 18-64 years old who are the primary decision makers for their own medical care. We do not accept any form of Medicare or Medicaid insurance.
Please expect a return phone call from our staff to review other questions prior to being scheduled for a new patient appointment.
The current wait time for a new patient appointment at our downtown location is between 4 and 6 weeks. Wait times at our Lost Creek location are considerably shorter.
