NOW ACCEPTING CLIENTS
Emily Freihart was born and raised in Northern New Jersey. She received her Bachelor’s of Science degree in Applied Psychology from New York University in 2020. There, she worked in multiple research laboratories as a research assistant and as a peer health educator in various school settings in Manhattan and Brooklyn, NY.
Currently, Emily is pursuing her Master of Science degree in Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin. Since starting at UT, Emily worked on an inpatient unit at a psychiatric hospital in the Austin area, working closely with individuals suffering from acute mental illness. Emily is overjoyed to be joining the Roots staff, as a psychotherapist intern.
Emily’s clinical approach is both strengths-based and client-centered, as she leads with empathy and encourages collaboration at every stage of the therapeutic process. Her goal is to create a warm, supportive environment so that her clients can comfortably and safely express themselves and share their experiences. Emily’s particular area of interest includes the use of KAP for the treatment of OCD and various anxiety disorders. Emily will be supervised by Jennifer Hernandez, LCSW, during her internship at Roots Behavioral Health.
In her spare time, Emily enjoys watching movies, singing at the piano, and playing with her two dogs.
Fees for individual therapy with Emily are $50 per 50-minute session. To schedule a free 15-minute consultation, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
