Dr. Barksdale is a board-certified psychiatrist and a graduate of the University of Texas Medical Branch School of Medicine, where he also concurrently earned a Ph.D in neuroscience from the University of Texas at Austin. He completed his residency in general psychiatry at the University of Texas at Austin Dell Medical School. Dr. Barksdale has a strong research background in neuromodulation, mood disorders, and psychedelic-assisted therapy, and he boasts multiple honors, peer-reviewed publications, and conference presentations across psychiatry, neuroscience, and neurorehabilitation. Dr. Barksdale is experienced in treating mood, anxiety, trauma-related, and substance use disorders, as well as other serious mental illnesses. Dr. Barksdale is passionate about providing personalized, evidence-based, effective, and rapidly acting treatments to patients in Central Texas. In his free time, he enjoys cooking, attending live music events, watching stand-up comedy, and engaging in outdoor activities with his family.
