Heather Panozzo (she/her/hers) is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor Intern (LCDC-I) practicing under the supervision of Andrea Turnipseed, LCSW-S. Heather completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Nevada Las Vegas with a degree in Interdisciplinary-Multidisciplinary Studies infusing social work, substance abuse, and sociology. Heather completed her Master of Science in Social Work at the University of Texas at Austin.
Heather’s therapeutic style is collaborative and multimodal without forgetting the humor and realness. She is informed by trauma centric approaches and incorporates mind-body techniques in her session work. Her work includes techniques from Internal Family Systems (IFS), Somatics, Mindful Self Compassion (MSC), and Mindfulness. She is influenced by attachment, interpersonal neurobiology (IPNB), relational, systems, and trauma theories.
In the therapy room, Heather honors her clients autonomy and joins them in co-creating an inclusive space that’s safe for their transformative needs. She finds joy and meaning in supporting adults cultivate an embodied sense of self. She has experience supporting folks in the areas of trauma recovery, relationship concerns, life transitions, depression, anxiety, existential inquiry, psychedelic integration, and developing updated coping strategies.
Out of the therapy room, you can find Heather chasing live music of all kinds and searching for new nature spots with her spunky dog Huxley.
At Roots, Heather offers individual psychotherapy, Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP), and psychedelic integration sessions. Her integration sessions allow space for clients to identify and explore preparation, intention setting, meaning making, and the change-making process in a supportive, curious environment.
